The Pacific Business Trust assists people of pacific island descent who are either starting or expanding an existing business, do so with the best possible support and financial advice available. The Trust also runs seminars and workshops to assist in planning the next step the business needs to take.

This is a free monthly newsletter, which profiles the work the Trust is doing around the country in the business, community enterprise, education and arts sectors. It is also published on the Pacific Business Trust website www.pacificbusiness.co.nz

Pacific Business Awards
The Pacific Business Awards are held every second year covering four categories - the Pacific Business of the Year, Pacific Enterprise Award, Pacific Business Leader of the Year and Pacific Business Person of the Year. The aim of the Pacific Business Awards is to showcase excellence by Pacific business leaders ant to provide inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs. Anew Community Enterprise of the Year Award, celebrating achievement in the not-for-profit sector, is planned.

 Grants
The Pacific Business Trust administers grant program for arts related business ventures, business research and tertiary scholarships.

Venture Funding
New Zealanders of Pacific descent who are either starting up a business or expanding an existing business are able to apply for a loan with the Pacific Business Trust.

Secured loans are available of up to $100,000.The interest rate is negotiated on a case-by-case basis. All borrowers must contribute a minimum of 15% of the total cost of the startup or expansion project. This can be cash or operational business assets.
